Red face Hello from a 24 Year Old Atlantan Woman

Hi everyone!

I discovered this site via digg.com; it was so inspirational that I just had to introduce myself.

My husband and I are starting a business and we've come far, there're just a few more things we have to do. Chief among those is getting funding for inventory. I hope I can get to know folks here and finally get our site launched and ready to take orders!

Click here for more info on our new business.

We're selling plus-sized and specialty bras.
Click here for more info on our new business.

My friends and I are tired of being unable to find and then paying too much for our underwear, so my husband and I are trying to get this business going. It's a tremendous niche that's only getting bigger and we're honestly surprised that no one in the US is doing it like our competitors overseas.

I love it....I F***ING love it. If I had money I would invest in this because everytime my girlfriend and I go to Victoria's Secret she gets so upset that they don't have any of the nicer bras in her size and it almost drives her (and me) to tears. She has to pay like $60 for a plain bra because of her "rare" size. Everytime we go shopping I have to hear about how society wants women to be skinny with large breasts but no one is making bras for that. They only have nice bras for big girls with big breasts and skinny girls with small breasts.

Atlanta woman, your company could be the answer to my girlfriend's (and therefore my) headache. Please PM when you get everything set up for people to start ordering.

Actually, that response is not uncommon from both men and women. My friends ask me all the time, "When will the website be up? I need new bras!"

I hate going to Frederick's or Victoria's to find that the largest bras (that don't fit anyway) are picked clean from the racks or were substandard. Most well-endowed women don't know this but there is beautiful underwear out there for women built like us, but it's expensive and sold mostly in from European companies and specialty shops stateside.

In talking to vendors (Panache, LeMystere), we've found that they're actually trying to get a foothold in the States, but nobody, apart from small bricks and mortar mom and pop shops and Figleaves (who overprice the bras), is really moving them like Bravissimo and Big-cups.de in the EU.

Just a comment, focus on design. Also they should have patterns on the internet that you could buy for around $10.00 to get you started. You could make modification to them and have your seamstress make a prototype. Good Luck.

Design of the bras? We're actually reselling them. There are many companies that make them who look for stores to sell them. That's us-we're facilitators, not manufacturers.
