    Hello everyone

I live in the US, and I am 19 years old. My dream is to create a multimillion dollar business. My head is focused on this throughout the entire day. I am constantly tossing around ideas in my head even as I try to sleep. I am currently a student with an undecided major. I hope to get started on this before I graduate college. I feel like I have taken the first steps towards my goal and the next few years will determine a lot.

Thank you! I'm very excited about getting started. Currently my brain is working hard at coming up with different ideas. Everything I see, I now look at the business perspective of it. I think it's very good surrounding myself with young ambitious individuals which is the reason I joined.

Hello! That would be awesome! I can do the same as well. I think it's great surrounding yourself with people that have the same determination and mindset as you.

    Awesome!

You sound very much like myself! I am 20 years old and am studying entrepreneurial Business Administration at my college.
Now is a great time to start that business.

That's awesome! It's so rare to find people that want to be entrepreneurs. Most people our age either don't care about their future or want to pursue jobs as employees.

I am around your same age and in your same shoes. Some quick advice I can offer you is to find something scalable. I say this for a few reasons. The first is that many people have GOOD business ideas but they may not be financially feasible, or may take too much money to start-up. The second is because a lot of people think they will somehow find income or an investor when in reality its much harder than you think. There are tens of thousands of us with "ideas" and few investors.

Another thing I want to point out is that you said you want to make a multi million dollar business. To do this you need to stop looking around. Similar to a stock, once a move has been made your too late in the game. Creating a place similar to Starbucks would fail now because people are already accustomed to StarBucks, making a new "swiffer" will fail to the current "swiffer". Switching costs are a burden and its hard to capture a saturated audience.

To create a multimillion dollar business, you need to come up with something truly unique. So my best advice overall is to just enjoy life and wait till it hits you.. Sounds crazy doesn't it, but most prominent business owners started that way.

If you want to knock heads feel free, I have several Idea's I would tell you that are rocket ship ideas, then explain why they can't be done.

    Hey Dorito,

My first suggestion is to look for advice from those that have done and those that do rather than those in your shoes. The above advice is horribly wrong. Never stop creating, never stop writing things down, never stop exploring opportunities to create what you want. Stop trying and one day you will look back and realize that 20 years has gone by and you still never jumped on an opportunity or you missed it because you weren't exploring anymore.

Good luck with you and your future. Hope to see you around the forums and hopefully you bring what you learn to us. I've been in the world of "entrepreneurs" for a while not and I have learned that no matter how much I think I know, I'll never know enough. I can learn from the old guy and the new guy.

    Good Luck,

    Nick

    Nick,

I believe you mis understood me horribly. First off the person out living their life with the idea of owning their own business has a muh higher success rate than those who just "try" to find ideas. This is because of experience, and when someone is out working a normal job etc and lovig their life they realize a need. Any need can then be turned into a business. Business starts because someone fulfills a need or want and satisfies customers.

I apologize that you mis interpreted what I was specifying. I also apologize to Doritos if you took it the way Nick did. Definitely do your research on how most successful businesses came about. The creator will generally start out with I kept doing x and y then realized z.

Square Dorito - that seriously is an awesome user name! I love it! I was listening to a TV show with Marie Forleo and she said something that changed my life "take action to bring clarity to your thoughts." If you're not sleeping at night, get up and take some action - and your thoughts will take you someplace awesome!
