Free time cabinet maker wanting to go bigger

Hi all. I just found this site and thought I would give it a try.

I am a 30 year old software developer. For the last 5 years, I have been building cabinets and furniture for family and friends out of my garage in Lenexa, Kansas. About 2 years ago, I decided to go bigger, and started my own LLC out of my garage. I have been pretty busy, since I do it in my spare time only right now (which isn't much because I have 3 year old twin daughters and a 9 month old son). Most of my current work comes from friends, family and neighbors, but every now and then I get a referral from someone.

I am still very small, and handle most of my own work. My plans are to grow larger in the next 2 years. I have found someone with the same interests and talents as me, and plan on doing business with him. He has already assisted me with building display fixtures for a local Harley Davidson shop.

I would like to learn more about going into a larger business, and doing this full time. Biggest issue now is $$$$. Wife doesn't work, so I am the bread winner, and this IT gig makes good money (plus insurance for the family). Any suggestions on how to grow, such as help with startup loans, good banks to do business with, small business health insurance, suggestions on landing larger clients, etc.. would be very appreciated and helpful.

My end goal is to have a larger off-site facility making larger manufacturing jobs such as hotel/motel furniture, and other commercial style furniture.

Sorry about the long post... Hope to learn a lot here.

Luke
