    creating a website!

hey everyone, i have recently came up the idea of making my own website or a blog website. I am still working on it and i'm actually looking for some help. I was wondering which way to do it is best. Since i do not know anything about web designing or any html at all, should i spend time to learn these things or find other sites that already have these programs? thanks =)

    Hi there,

Starting a site can be very daunting if you don't know how to do much html, but there are ways it can be done. This site I found is an excellent tool for starting your own website, and the site it refers to (SBI) is one of the best resources for starting a site on the web! You don't even need to know any html!

    Hope this helps,
    STARTING YOUR OWN WEBSITE

    Have a great day.

If you're designing a blog (i.e. WordPress), you're going to need to know a lot more than just HTML. Really, you are going to need to learn HTML, CSS, XHTML, and some PHP. I'm also assuming you know how to design (or you are going to need to know how to do that as well). If you are just going to make a site, not a blog, then you still need to know the previous languages except for PHP.

    Good luck!

Starting a blog is so easy that you don't to know anything about web design. Download Wordpress, set it up with your web host, and download a template that you really like. There are thousands of them available for free.

I'd also suggest SBI. I used it to create my website and found it very user friendly. I knew nothing of HTML and had no web design experience. Check it out. You'll be happy.

As for the making money part, SBI will teach you that providing content is #1. In order to do this you must love what you are writing about. In turn you provide the reader more of what they looking for. This reader may then later do business with you. So, keep that in mind and you'll do fine.

Lastly, I'd steer clear from "get rich quick" web design programs. It takes time, period.

    Good luck!

You don't need to know about html to start a blog. For starter, try to use blogger or wordpress.com as your host instead of trying to host it on third party web host, because:

    1. It is free
    2. It is extremely easy to setup an account and get going
    3. You don't have to be distracted by other stuffs like choosing a web host/plan, configuring wordpress to run on third party host, etc

lol I love it how everyone is trying to make you purchase from their affiliate link. All those services lack in one are or another and are never reliable. Most cost too much and only take advantage of the newbie who does not know better.

Go to WordPress.com and start there.
Go to Zlio.com and get an affiliate store running with your favorite products.
Make sure you buy a domain name you like and make it your brand.

Don't buy hosting until you know what it is and how it works. Don't pay anyone for a monthly service until you can completely understand what the are talking about in their sales page and you see it beneficial and cannot be gotten for free.

Just keep at it, and you will succeed.

These days, it's easy as pie to get a great blog or website up, fast and cheap. Typepad, Blogger, and Wordpress all have good blog options. Squarespace is great too if you need something with a little more design oomph.

And I wouldn't bother trying to learn programming... you've got more important things to do!

Definitely start a blog - use Typepad, WordPress, and go find a theme you like. Mess around with it and you'll the hand of it all. Just keep writing, keep writing, keep writing. It will add up. Good luck!
