    Lightbulb Big vision!

Hello, name is Julian and I want to create advertising that shakes things up, makes you laugh til you piss yourself, touches your heart like only a mother can. The kind of advertising that digs to the core of a brand to find the absolute truth. I want to do big smart things for brands using new media. I'm a recent college grad with a BFA in advertising design that has an idea for the new advertising agency with new ways of communication.

I hope to learn here on the forums what it takes to get investors and other good information from other smart young entrepreneurs like myself.

One example I can give you is taking a product and creating a mini series to promote it via YouTube to gain buzz and generate interest. Yes, things like this have been done before but lacked to move people or create buzz in culture. 95% of advertising is bad, 3% of it is good - bearable, leaving 2% of advertising that sticks to your bones. I think I found a way to break past the crap messages out there while showing a positive ROI.

    Perfect description.

Love that and know exactly what you mean. Commercials like this one have or like this stayed with me for 10* years.

    Do you have a site?
Do you see yourself as a boutique firm or are you thinking mainstream?
Who are your business crushes? (Firms/people you admire most)
Are you at the stage where you're looking for creative partners and/or advertising platforms? I have a few referrals in either direction. NB: Nothing huge, but quality folks starting in the market who I have relationships with.

You're onto a good idea, interested in what you come up with.

    Best,

Thanks for your good words RuDee!

YES, great adverts! Gap is one of the strongest brands around (minus the logo change mishap last year) that always delivers great creative.

No website now, I'm in the final stages of finishing my business plan but I do have a ton of creative mapped out on paper. I for sure want this to be a small agency/boutique (5 - 10 people) and hire freelancers as needed but I'm still working on what niche I want to tackle.

I admirer of Alex Bogusky, former CCO of Crispin Porter + Bogusky. His philosophy on advertising and culture is powerful. Another one of my influences are author Chuck Klosterman who does a lot of writing about pop culture and such. And of course Mark Zuckerberg for being a young entrepreneur.

I have a few creative people/friends (directors, graphic designers, fashion designers) who I'd like to involve. Right now I'm looking for creative partners, advertising platforms, media folk, angel investors, pretty much anyone who wants to get on board with taking advertising back for the people. Hopefully I can come across someone who believes in me with funding that will invest. Haha, isn't that the dream though?
