Another newbie trying to join the business bandwagon

hi, my names 'sunny' im 23 live in the United Kingdom ..im a newbie to this ball game... i have no experience in business!!! i currently work as a civil servant full time 9-5.. im sick of my job!! i've done it for 4 years! ... ive decided having my own business is the way forward.. yet im stuck.. i have no idea what i want to do..(bet you hear this all the time).. i have a great passion for cars and music and fashion!!! but cant think of anything in relelation to those subjects.. unless i opened a car wash! but where i live, every tom dick and harry has one.. literally! and clothing i just dont know where to start.. im really enthusiastic.. i have around £700 to start off..which is roughly about $1100.. i would prefably like to do something online makes sense rather than commiting myself to renting a property, bills to pay etc.. i really would like to make something out of my life.. please could anyone help with ideas..

sunny welcome to YE yep everyone has been in the same position as yourself, what is usually a good starting point is doing something on the lines of your interest or pastimes and you have mentioned cars, music and fashion the only trouble is all of those areas are totally saturated and it would be very hard to make any money or grow the business,it would be better if you had some unusual pastime or interest and the more obscure the better as unusual niches are the way to go,the normal way to start with a budget like you have mentioned would be by starting a website and then place either adverts or affilates on the site this will bring in the revenue for you.

So have you any other interests and also what part of the UK are you based out of,i am just north of london

Hello Mega B... thanks for taking the time out to reply..hmm the only unusual thing i can think of is.. 'meditation' i travel once a year to a meditation retreat..help out the local community..feeding the homeless..living with basic necessities..depriving myself of sleep of and of course medidtation..a unique experience!!..yet again have no idea in how that could possibly create revenue...i've read up a few posts on here.. quite a few people have mentioned creating a website and placing adverts etc.. what sort of costs would be involved in this? and i would have no idea what to make a website on!

Im based in the west midlands

Well from what you have just mentioned meditation could well be the way forward as you have the knowledge and the dedication by the sound of it,so this is only my thoughts about this is start a small blog you can set one up for free on blogger.com this inturn will get you to understand how the internet works by promoting the site, adding adverts to earn revenue and to start off by going down tis avenue the price is nothing as it is totally free, you could start a wordpress blog which is a very small amount cost wise to start infact peanuts and grow the blog with your experiances with meditation.

That i feel could well be your 1st big step up the ladder,if you require any other help, advice or not sure what to do you can PM me and i will help you.

i think you're right.. blogging maybe the secret door to success.. why not give it a shot..but i think i will look into other subjects in relation to blogging.. meditation is only appealing to small numbers.. lets face it..most people find sitting down doing nothing boring!!.. i will keep u posted..and will PM for further advice in due course..really appreciate your help..
