    What is your motivation?

I posted the "what is your motivation" question on LinkedIn and received a lot of comments, so I wanted to drop the question here as well.

As a young entrepreneur it's vital to have your mindset in sync with your goals. Without your mind pushing in the right direction, there is no success...period.

If you disagree with that statement feel free to counter.

While most people steer clear of the entrepreneurial journey, you embrace it. what is your motivation to stay on the path of an entrepreneur?

To me, the memories of hard experiences, that make you to correctly evaluate certain matters in your life, are real motivational factors.

Mindset is very important because if you mind does not align with your goals. When things are not going as expected how you handle it determine whether you quit or continue with your goals. If your mindset is weak than you will quit at the smallest obstacle.

@Shirland Exactly, you will inevitably face failure. You have to options: play the victim and allow it to eat away at you eventually tearing you down or you can embrace it, learn from it and move on.

Failure is a state of mind. Master your mind and failure isn't failure...it's learning.

Indeed, having the right mindset for business is paramount. As the cliche goes "if you can think it, you can be it". It is very important to picture your self as successful. While there may be some hurdles along the way, think of them as minor set-backs to eventually make you formidable in your business.

I've never heard truer words in my life. It takes a lot of courage to face failure and to learn from it and move on. What is life without courage? Fear. Living in fear will cripple even the brightest minds.

Learning from past experiences is one way of motivating yourself to avoid happening it again in the future. Yes, we face challenges each day. Usually we get inspiration from our work, future goals, or other people's positive experiences and get motivated to be like them.

The mind is everything. If you cannot manage it or it doesn't support you, you're finished.

I set reminders for myself for future dates using Gmail and Google calendar. Those reminders are about things that I need to stay focused on. I remind myself that I made a promise to myself that I was going to do this. When you get a message like that from yourself at a future date unexpectedly, it really shocks you and helps you stay focused and motivated. Otherwise, for me at least, I tend to lose motivation over time.

I do what I do - small business consulting - because I love to help people and watch them achieve their goals. If I can make them successful, I will be successful.

    This is a lovely idea!
I've just selected random dates on my calender for reminders that it's going well, to keep me going.
    Wonderful!
    Many thanks
