    Fear of Failure

The fear of failure is one big thing that holds people back. If you have a fear of failure I want you to understand one thing.

Life is too short to fear.

If you are reluctant to jump in and start a business, realize that it's not your abilities that are holding you back it's that damn little negative voice in your head. You don't have to listen to it.

There's an old saying by Wayne Gretzky:

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Take a chance and see where life takes you. Remember life is too short, so take advantage of your time now.

The fear of failure is the beginning of failure....

I learned that way back in my schooling years and for the longest time had no clue what it was about. This was up until i realized that the fear of failure to sign up for a science congress test had kept me away from being a little science champion. I signed up in my final year of school and emerged top in the whole province..

For those of you who fear to take the first step, it might be all you need to get to the top of your game..

Very good point Njouze. The first step is usually the hardest out of them all, but once it's taken everything seems to workout.

I compare it to moving a weighted sled (crossfit style). It could weigh up to 300 lbs depending on the amount of weight a person wants on it. Once you get it moving (from a dead stop) it gets easier and easier as it picks up momentum.

Great thoughts! Indeed, the moment you start to think that you'll fail, you will eventually fail.

The mindset of failure makes you see all your flaws and magnifies them excessively. however the moment you look at them from a different angle like that of an opportunity to learn, you are good to go.

Work on your attitudes and you are well on your way to success...

I feared failing in my first business venture, but I put together a great business partnership that helped me get over the fear. Eventually my first business failed, and I was forced to file for bankruptcy. But it made my resolve stronger, and is now pushing me to try again. This time I have no fear because I already know what it is like to fail. I am willing to push myself, learn from my mistakes, and be more prepared this time so I don't fail.

I have meet many successful business owners that had one thing in common, they all failed at least once.

    Thanks for the advice!

For me personally, FAILURE is part of life's encounters. Having not gone through a single failure in life, means you have not lived a fulfilling life at all. We abhor failing, but it is the experience that we learned from failing only do we learn the lessons life has yet to teach us.

Don't be afraid of FAILURE. You're not the only one going through that troublesome water. Seeking help from others will help, provided that you should also do your side of the effort for you to go through such ordain.

actually to fail many times in life is a very great and positive experience. if you look at succesful and powerful people most of them failed a lot to get where they are today.

Nothing fails like success because we don't learn from it. We learn only from failure. ~Kenneth Boudling

Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.

Great additions everyone! @bizz I agree. Failing indeed can be a positive experience. It depends on your mindset and how you look at it. When you realize that failing is all apart of learning and growing, you begin to see failure for what it is, an opportunity to get better!

    Re

Today most of the youngsters get into depression due to either failure in the life or in their career. getting depressed is not the solution to it one has to take failure as an advantage to start again. These days many graduates have to face a fear of not getting the suitable or perfect job in spite of getting depressed they had to look for the options which help them to do so one of the best option is Gradvantage.

A lot of college students suffer from depression because they feel a tremendous amount of pressure to succeed, especially the talented ones. I learned quickly in college that I was not allowed to fail. Of course this was all my reaction to the pressure that I felt from professors and parents alike, but failure was never an option for me. It wasn't until I failed that I realized how valuable that the experiance of failure can be. Ive since grown in ways that I never could have without experiancing failure. I learned more about myself, my own goals and ambitions, and about life in general. Before hand it was as if I was simply taking unspoken orders from people, never learning to think on my own. Ive met far too many college students that never learned that failure is ok and are now suffering from depression as a result. Fortunetly I've also noticed that depression can be life's way of teaching people that failure can be therapeutic. The minds way of telling you that your current path is unsustainable, whatever the reason may be.

So my advice to people is to embrace risk taking, accecpt failure as a learning tool that goes hand in hand with success, and do not let yourself be controlled by fear. These are the lessons that our children should be learning, but instead many are being coddled and over protected. These are kids that are learning to be afraid of failure and that are learning to let themselves be controlled by fear. Its no wonder anxiety and depression related illnesses are so common.

Here is how you can overcome the fear of failure.

    1. Define the first exactly what you want

    2. Define the FIRST action step you can take towards it

    3. Take the action

If you follow these steps you won't let fears control you and what you thought was scary in the beginning will never scare you again.

If you don't face challenges, you will definitely fail. Even if the battle have not yet started and you think of not fighting, you fail. Don't make life easy by just quitting. In this complicated world, challenges is normal. How would feel the success in life if you fail to try the challenges? Remember that if you are failing to plan, you are planning to fail so you better not walk back and just ignore the challenges.
