I always believe time management is one of the key factors which will enable you to succeed or fail. Its as important as your core business activities itself.

Brian Tracy is great. I have not read that book yet but it is on the list.

I would go as far as to say that you can tell how successful a person is by how they manage their time

Steven Pierce shared a thought on time management that I've enjoyed working with. He says, "Our time is managed by what's a priority in our life, by what we value the most." Simple and true. Making our business or defining the things in our business that are important, truly important, helps me make the most of my time.

    Thanks for sharing the videos.

I wish I had read this sooner. It was only by trial and error that I realized just how important time management is. Hopefully others won't get a chance to make that mistake after reading this.

What do you think is the maximum number of hours per week that an entrepreneur can work effectively? I've heard plenty boast about working 100 hours per week, but I doubt that they're being effective that whole time. It seems like someone working 60 hours per week, with good time management, could still outpace them.

    What do people think?

I read 'four hour work week' a few years ago - which gave some great advice on Time Management. He recommends the following:

Avoid email paralysis - turn off your email throughout the day and open up morning time and then again mid-afternoon. Take the inbox alert off Outbox. This avoids distractions.

Break things up into bite-size chunks. Then put your entire heart and soul into that small amount of time.

In a nutshell, he goes on to add that most of us can do our day jobs in about three hours everyday.

Good book, but I can't remember the author.

    Sally -

That's Tim Ferriss' book. And he's a genius when it comes to time management. Sure, I'm working more than four hours a week, but managing the time you do work helps you to make more money and to still have a life outside of work.

    Great thread!

Time management is so important, and so underrated!

It is so good to see more people acknowledging it,

Although I don't like to call it "time management" but "personal management"

Because we all get 24 hours in a day, and we have no control over that. But what we can control is ourselves, if you can manage yourself effectively you are going to be successful.

When I first started my business I was so bad at this, and I refused to accept it.

But once I did, my whole life changed. The amount of work I can get done has probably tripled, I am much happier and enjoy life so much more!

    Love the post.
