In a more complex depth, advertising is good because it represents
brand values of a specific company that people can relate to.
Also, advertising may let people feel self-worth, escapism,
voyeurism, a sense of surveillance and personal identity. Dont
forget that there are different types of advertising such as below
the line, and above the line etc etc.

Basically to promote your products/services to gain exposure to the public (awareness) and let the consumer patronize your products/services.
