Edison didn't invent the lightbulb. He worked on improving an existing design of a previous inventor and with another partner on top of that, one who never received the credit they deserved.

If you Google in "Thomas Edison didn't invent the lightbulb", there are a huge number of websites that cover this including the following from first page results:

5 Famous Inventors (Who Stole Their Big Idea) | Cracked.com
WikiAnswers - Why did Thomas Edison invent the light bulb
Thomas Edison - The Inventions of Thomas Edison
The UnMuseum - Who Invented the Lightbulb?

There are several well known websites that cover the history of this. It's a common misconception that Edison invented the lightbulb.

Shocking ...... Had Edison also stolen the rest of inventions or he did it with couple of inventions ?

Does some authentic source gives proof of the facts given in the websites , I don't think we should think a person speaking 100% truth if he has published some thing on his web page .

Kindly reply to ease my confusion

According to my recollection from the history books which is fuzzy at this point, he did steal a massive number of invention and call them his own. However it is not without merit for he did contribute a significant amount of work towards these inventions. In some cases he were partners with others and received sole credits, in others, for some reason he was given credit and the others were not. It's really difficult to narrow down history entirely and claim what is truth and what is not for everything at this point. The only truth that I can even see from what I've read on this subject over the years is he's gotten more fame and credit than he deserves and a lot of names that should have been on the list are missing. I'm sure if you're interested, there are numerous publications you can probably look up to research this more. I don't particularly care but it certainly is a huge misconception.

As for your original question, what inventors do I think is cool (I wouldn't say admire in any way), probably Steve Wozniak since his Apple I machine led the revolution to modern computing the way we know it now (also partly credited to Xeror GUI invention down the line).

Haha thanks, I don't deserve any credit. You can read my blog to get a brief overview about me but aside from that, I'm more of a web entrepreneur than anything.

EDIT: Ran across this post by accident today, thought you might be interested.

Something I always found funny about Thomas Edison was that the man was scared of the dark. It's amazing how inventive people can take a fear and cure it with an invention and revolutionize the world at the same time.

As I was reading down the thread my mind was screaming Tesla, Tesla! But then I saw him fortunately. Another giant was Viktor Schauberger. More recent but still dead would be Stanley Meyers. Both of the latter were fascinated by water.......

I can't post links yet but wiki's a good place to start...
    Warm regards,
