Looking for Investor/Investors for BIG idea

Hello, my name is Todd Mackey and I am currently seeking an investor or two for a project on an invention I have been researching. I am currently not open to sharing my idea and/or concept as I feel it may jeporadize it. I will however mention a few details as to what it has to do with. First off my idea has to do with solar energy and also the transportation industry.

I believe I have found a way to make life more comfortable for drivers out on the road as well as provide big trucking companies with a way to save big on fuel cost and most importantly it will definitely fall in line with companies and industries now working on going green to improve the environment.

This is definitely something that can be marketable and profitable for everybody involved and will definitely chance the industry for the better. I would also like to mention that I have a couple of other things I am currently seeking investors for as well that also have a good solid future. If you are interested please contact me by private message.

Well I've kinda figured out that I won't get anywhere with this unless I am a little descriptive about this idea that I have. So here we go, like I said before my invention involves solar power and would be used the trucking industry, but to go into more detail I am planning on creating a solar powered a/c and power unit that truck drivers can easily secure in their window each night when they shut down. This will allow the driver to have a/c or heat as well as a power source to run things such as a television, phone charger, laptop charger, etc., while running completely off of solar power. Thus, allowing them to save fuel because of them not needing to idle their truck during the day and/or night while sleeping and also eliminate the use of battery power from the batteries of their trucks.

I know this may not sound like a logical idea, but trust me it is very marketable and would sell to major trucking companies. I've done some figures to show you how much a driver could possibly save in just a week on fuel.

So for our example we will figure out how much fuel the driver used to idle their truck through the week. (Note: A commercial vehicle uses up to 1 gal/hour to idle. Multiply that by 10 hours and thats 10 gallons of fuel that could've been saved. Now if you multiply 10 gallons by the national average for diesel fuel @ 4.20/gallon and thats 42.00 bucks burned in one night. Now multiply that by 7 days and that comes out to a total cost of 294.00. Which is all fuel that could be saved by using my idea.

To close my little presentation here I want to say that I know and believe in this idea. I have talked to many other drivers like myself that have said it would be great to have something like that and with today's economy well worth the money. Major trucking companies would buy this to keep up with the new standards coming out everyday for trucks. As well as to benefit their drivers and to keep them comfortable on the road, which is what it is all about. So like I said before, if your interested either reply here and I will message you or send me a pm. I believe in it and so should you. It takes us closer to going GREEN and I mean in both ways. Hope to hear from you guys soon. For now later on!

    A question...

Your proposal identifies a legitimate inefficiency. Truck drivers idle their trucks and use a massive engine while idled in order to fuel the electrical appliances in their cabin compartment. This wastes a significant amount of fuel since they don't need the full power output of their diesel engines.

However, I see significant problems with your solution. Solar energy is only available during daylight hours. If the solar energy is to be used at night, the energy has to be stored. Batteries to store significant amounts of energy are expensive. The cost of storing 1KWh in batteries is several hundred times the cost of generating the electricity. If an adequate storage mechanism is found, it would be useful for many things in addition to this particular invention. How do you intend to store the energy produced?

As a suggestion, you could try marketing a smaller generator that also runs on diesel fuel that could be used when the truck is in idle. This smaller diesel engine, which sits in the storage area somewhere, could power the electrical appliances in the cabin such as the air conditioner/heater, cell phones, computer, and radio.

Since many companies make small diesel generators, you wouldn't need to develop the generator. You just need to create a method to convert a pre-existing truck into one that uses this new generator. You need to find a place for the smaller generator and a way of safely getting fuel to that generator.

Pretty good idea but Greenride is right about batteries storing large amounts of energy are expensive. But if you have figured out a way to make it and sell it in a cheaper way then kudos to you. If you could manage to make it cheap enough to make a profit from with it still at a reasonable price there would be huge marketing potential. What truckers do now a days is either have a smaller diesel engine like Greenride was suggesting or hook up to a air conditioning/ electricity cable at truck stops. So your idea has huge potential. You just need to monetize to a price where private truck owners and truck companies can afford. If you can do that you getting a investor will not be hard. This is not the best place to tell your idea because you could get it stolen. I would go paten it as soon as you can in person. You would have a very successful manufacturing business if you could monetize the price of it all per unit. Maybe get a like minded asian on board, they are very good at doing just that. >_<

The US grants patent rights based on the first to invent principle whereas the rest of the world grants rights based on the first to file for a patent. Thus, in the US, he is protected by virtue of posting in this forum. In a court of law, he could introduce his post in this forum along with its date and use that as evidence of being the first to invent what he's proposing. However, he still has to reduce the invention to a practical form.

Unfortunately, I can't post links since I haven't posted 10 messages. If anyone wants more information, Google the following phrase:

"First to file and first to invent Wikipedia"
