I would like to chat with inventors

    Hi there

Before I start - I will clarify, I am not an inventor, though I have had a few hairbrained ideas that I do not intend to pursue at this time.

What I would like to do is talk to someone who has at least taken an idea to market, commercial success or not.

I'd like to find out about how you came up with your idea and the kind of creative thinking you do to get these results.

Please drop me a private message, it will be a fascinating dialogue..

BEWARE....inventor promoting companies that may come to this forum!!!! You are ALL SHARP young people I admire! All the resources are here for you with other members to develop your invention.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE GIVING MONEY TO INVENTION COMPANIES! There is only one that I know of that does not take money from you but will help develop for a cut. The rest are trying to scam inventors like crazy in this economy. BEWARE!

There are invention product development companies that DO help you get you product manufactured. These are not the scammy companies like InventHelp who IS just out to seperate you from you money.

Slingshot is a reputable one among many others.

I had a neighbour that invented this machine to read books on your TV, it was to bring the pages close up for those with bad eyesight. I looked at this thing and thought wow he is a head of his time, that was 17 years ago. Well he was going through the patent process and the cost is out there, $20,000 just to get a secure patent, one that others cannot get around. So if you are going to take something to market it better work. How you get it to market is filing for the patent first, plans, diagrams, paperwork and more paperwork. His invention was unique and I am not sure what happen to him and his brain child idea.

An inventor with low self esteem will seldom allow himself to be identified as an inventor. Let me boost your self confidence. If you have an idea that is original and you can create it. create it and wallah! You are an inventor.

I think you can gain the "Inventor" status only after you get PAID.

Getting a patent is loads of fun *chuckles*

We have only one patent but none the less, everything we make, was "invented" here/on-site.

We generally only "invent" things if their is an immediate need so that it's not ALL out of pocket expenses. However, those things usually are not "patentable" as their is typically other things too similar to it.
