So I have an Idea I'm looking to patent. My intentions are to get this idea patented then sell the idea to an existing company i.e. Kodak. I would like to do so without the assitance of a middleman firm i.e. TakeMeNational.com. Any suggestions?

it's tricky
there is no central electronic market for trading patents
if you want to sell/assign a patent, you've gotta approach buyers directly or go through brokers
it'll be hard for you to approch people directly because you wouldn't know who to approach or how to pitch
WIPO did put up a discussion paper about creating an online market for patents buy I haven't read it
http://www.wipo.int/about-ip/en/stud...ub_489_ch9.pdf
maybe there's some info in there
my suggestion for you is to scrap this notion of registering some patent for some invention that you have...that's boring as bat shit. doing this will cause you endless heartache.
instead, i advise you to recognize a much wider problem
the problem is that out of all the patents registered with your relevant authority, less than 1% would be actively commercialised
remaining patents are those where the inventors have paid all the fees to register their inventions and are now siting around going "awww, this was gonna make me rich, but all I have is this huge bill from my lawyer. I wish I could sell or licence this thing"
what you can do is set up a shop that helps these people..become a broker. help people sell/assign their patents.
