How to find testers for my prototype

Hello. I have prototypes of a patented product idea that I would like to distribute and collect opinions on. It is a niche product, specifically for people who have a problem with animals chewing on household items, furnishings, etc. I am hoping to receive positive feedback from potential customers and present this data to companies along with a sample prototype and request for a licensing agreement. How can I find individuals who might be interested in trying out this product and provide them with a prototype and survey? Is there a better way to collect this data? I am also concerned as I don't know if there any legal ramifications from sending these to people. Thank you.

Perhaps talking to ppl @ pet shows or your local vet.. Post an ad in kijiji or craigslist..
