im actually researching it now and trying to find out what permits/licenses are necessary to do this in Canada Ontario, but I am not having much luck finding this. Does anybody know where I can find this information?

I do a little (metal) waste removal on the side, picking up old washers and dryers for a fee. I don't think you need a permit as long as you aren't planning to dump the waste anywhere. In my case, I take it to a place called Palmer Recyclying which pays about $20 for a washer and dryer (for example). You make money picking the stuff up and you make money again dropping the stuff off. If you actually go into someone's home to pick up the items I think you will need liability insurance.

ok. so if you get that little amount of money for a washer dryer then you need to do large quantities.

Yes i will be going to customers homes so I will need to find out the permits etc.

Dont know about Canada - check with your local council - but we started up in the UK and I cant tell you how much red tape there was to get through....our company is called Simply Junk - part of the Simply Waste Solutions group and will be glad to give advice if required - but it will be uk based law!
