Urk Eyewear - Partnership/Investment Opportunity

To all my entrepreneur minded friends out there, how are we doing?

I am an aspiring entrepreneur myself. I have recently finished the infrastructure for my second business, Urk Eyewear. I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but the eyewear industry is one of the most monopolized and overpriced market segments in the entire world. Optical frames can typically be manufactured for around $15.00 and following presciption lenses the total price tag is generally in the range of $35-$50. Unfortunately, the average retail price for the typical consumer is $350. When I found this information out, I decided to do something about it - Urk Eyewear was created.

Here's the deal, my design team and I are preparing to launch an online retail business that offers "Designer Eyewear without Designer Price." As I mentioned, this is my second project that I am currently involved in. The majority of my money is tied up in my first company (involved as a minority investor) so I am using a crowdfunding platform called RocketHub. I have put together a video and some resources to provide viewers with an idea of what we are trying to accomplish. CBS News and 60 Minutes have both done stories on the eyewear industry recently. Honestly, I truly believe the eyewear industry needs to change. We are trying to provide that opportunity to consumers but we need everyones help in getting the word out about our company. Anything and everything would be greatly appreciated.

As mentioned, RocketHub is a crowdfunding platform. As the CEO of the company, we are not close minded towards alternative financing. Banks are out of the question. We have current financial documents that show and project the profitability of a company like this. Obviously, we are not going to just provide that information to anyone. If there are serious inquiries about becoming a partner in this company or having some minority ownership through financial backing we are all ears. I like your dream of quality eyewear for lower prices, but for example how do you exactly fill a progressive bi-focal prescription for 75$ when the lenses itself cost 40$ a piece?

Yes we are moving forward with our project. RocketHub is only one platform that we are using - there are a number of others that are helping contribute to our project.

We can fill any standard prescription for the price point of $20.00. Strengthened unique prescription lenses or lenses that have separate costs will obviously be more expensive and we only plan to charge the consumer cost. Our margins will be kept the same regardless of the strength, so ultimately its not like we are making out for additional costs - we simply ask you to pay what it would cost us to make that special prescription - its a win either way for the customer. Thats our goal.

I do not run a VC firm. It is 3-4 of us family memebers looking to start up , help, invest, own business what have you etc. We currently own small businesses along with still working our full time day jobs.
