I have owned...
Established one of the first computer software company in Estonia during the collapse of Soviet Union and managed it succesfully during the Estonian reconstruction period;
With Internet (being there since 1993) generated huge amount of interest to my software products internationally; made a good return from NASDAQ (from $2K investment in 1998 cashed total out $68K by 2001); was dealing with VC whose due-diligence showed that within hand of right management team my products and worldwide interest to those could be worth $30M or something but as the financial market situation changed, wasn't much able to close VC deals being in NYC.
2003 Established Indepedent Music Label in UK, found a fantastic artistic team, generated huge amount of interest from Internet (total 12M plays) but didn't found any way to make money from music on those days;
2005 established Indepedent Film Production company in UK to produce low-budget features for digital distribution (VOD and DVD) offering a good ROI, found only 50% financing there so left...
currently homeless hitchhiker without a computer... could make a good money from iphone apps with my skills

I am always interested in any kind of business. The import/export business has increased dramatically lately, especially with lower shipping rates.

I have a friend that exports his clothing and shoe line to Dubai. It is a great market.

I am not totally familiar with Dubai's wants, but I would like to help you on your venture and take a cut of some revenue.

It all depends on your perspective, my take is that as the old guard that controlled large segments of the economy are swept away there is even more opportunity in Egypt than before, provided you have the right connections and have some idea of what you are doing :-)
