    Selling Clothing Line

    Hey everyone,

My name is Travis Steffen, I'm a successful entrepreneur and own a wide variety of profitable companies. A few of my companies are requiring more of my attention, so I'm looking to sell one of them - Synn Clothing LLC.

I started Synn (Synn Clothing - It's Good To Be Bad) in January of 2008. It has done well, though through success in other ventures, book deals, etc. I haven't had the necessary time to commit to its growth over the past year or so. It has gotten some interest from some upscale retailers like Fred Segal in LA, but if it were to get picked up by them I would have to commit to this company full-time, and with my other ventures right now it's just something that I can't warrant doing. It was my first company and one that I always held near and dear to my heart so I didn't want to sell it, but I've decided to finally give in. I would ideally like to keep a small equity share in the company.

If you decide to purchase, you'll get my complete roladex to all of my overseas and domestic manufacturers, the domain, shopping cart, all existing product, the rights to all screens, and personal introductions to everyone who has ever done business with the company.

Right now I'm starting the bidding at $15k. If you're interested, please send an email to info@synnclothing.com.

Actually no - that's what comes up when you take the purchasing capability off of the shopping cart software. If you enable that product within the shopping cart admin panel it will give the visitor the ability to purchase the item.

The CMS is CS Cart, and it's the best I've found so far. I've tried most of the major shopping carts, but this one is far and above the easiest to use. I use it for all of my companies. Their customer support rocks, and they've got virtually anything you need already coded into the CMS, so most additions are one click away. Analytics, shipping (all major carriers), payment gateways - all ready to go.

    Hey Travis,

Nice line of clothes. What are your numbers? Revenue? Profit?

What work do you have to put in?

Once an order is placed, do you (the owner of the site), have to do any work?

    Thanks,
    Kirk

Yes - we hold the trademark on our brand name, "Synn".

The line is hard-branded (which refers to the type of line. Other examples of hard-branded lines are DC, TapouT, Hurley - basically any line that features the logo more prominently than the garment itself). The company is in the black after a decent small business loan at the outset back in 2007, but as I said above I've essentially shut down most operations over 2010 because of time commitments for another of my companies. If you want the actual numbers let me know.

The majority of the work on a line like this is setting up the supply chain. That's all done though, and we have 2 foreign manufacturers and 1 domestic manufacturer and 1 printer that handles the creation of the product from start to finish. In the past I had handled all design work myself, so that would be something that would need to be outsourced if you're not proficient with programs like Adobe Illustrator. Aside from production, we also handled all website sales ourselves, but you can schedule a regular pickup so you don't really have to go to much trouble doing that either.

The most optimal strategy at this point in the company's life would be to sell to retailers instead of going straight to the customer. At that point, the majority of work needed is branding and marketing the line. Athlete sponsorships are a great way to do this. I've got connections with most of the major managers that handle all the big names in MMA, and an intro to those folks would be included in the sale.

Let me know if this answered your question and if you have any others.

If someone buys this site, and needs any re-designing done, We can do it at a low cost. We also can make custom scripts for the site itself. Shoot me a pm

Thanks, but please don't hijack the thread with your ad. I'm sure there are other areas on the forums for this.

Thats fine, ill remove my posts. Was only trying to offer members a cheaper route, rather then paying a norm $65 an hour to someone in the states.
