Getting out of a website business venture?

    Hi all,

Here's the deal. I've been thinking about this for quite some time now. When people start up an internet business, say a website or a portal of some kind, and it begins to generate traffic, user accounts and some sort of income.
First, you will be thrilled obviously, and the drive to keep it going is vast, but as we all grow older, develop and advance in both personal lives as well as professional lives, maybe having that same business in the future might turn into burden, e.g. you set up an internet business and 2-4 years down the road you start to lose motivation due to whatever the reason might be, or you might start to prioritize differently in your life.

How do you stop it? Let's say you have an online business of some sort with paying customers, users, advertisers, clients etc. - this gives you some responsibility which you can't just through away by suddenly shutting down the business.

Have anybody ever wondered about this, or maybe even tried it?

    Looking forward to hear answers,
    Cheers,

That's what sites like flippa.com are for. (Although sites like those are often abused). Just be sure to let your loyal clients know about the changes being made!

Do you have any employees? If you can find a buyer willing to pay a reasonable price than that would be awesome. But if not, why don't you consider hiring someone to take over daily operations. This will of course free up your time to pursue whatever you wish to. And who knows, if you get lucky, maybe you'll find a very motivated, self-starter who may be able to further grow the business.
