Talking We are all independant women here, what other steps can we take...

    Hi All,

Just joined the site and proud to see a women's thread. I am in the process of setting up my business after too many years making money for others. Now I am seeing the light in so many other opportunities. Whilst realizing I want to depend solely on myself for my future I met a guy who has subsequently become my financial adviser. Through him I have started my own financial planning and feel more secure in myself. I love my husband so much but a divorce could happen and I wouldn't be able to depend on my kids to help me, now I will be OK. This is where another opportunity has come to me. How many women out there are not independent and rely on their husband for income and benefits such as pension? How many women have other women to turn to in this matter? I asked my adviser, he said there's not a lot of advisory firms owned by women - he knows non and this, this is what intrigued me...
So my question to you ladies out there is, how many of you have thought about securing your financial future independently? Would this be of interest to you? Do you think this is a feasible business venture?

I'm just starting to think about this so don't have the extensive knowledge on the subject but if your interested at this stage of in dept advise my adviser is bryanadvies.com

I feel that if you think you would be good at advising people then you should go for it!

I also just started on my venture to financial freedom for myself and my 3 children. I don't have anyone else currently to help me financially. I do it all on my own. Due to issues with my youngster's father I can only work weekends, and that is becoming difficult because no one wants to babysit on Saturday from 3 pm till 1 am. So the only thing that makes sense is to work from home. Fortunately, I found something that works with lots of support. Onward bound!

May you have many successes in which ever ventures you take.

I think your idea is great and will provide so much insight, I never depend on my husband, I like him to have his own and I make my own. We equally do things. But I also seperate his planning from mine too. I just think everyone should enjoy what they work for.
