    Starting a business

I am looking into starting a business in Sierra Leone. Looking at investing $20000 which i have worked very hard to save. However, I have no idea what kind of business I should venture into. If you have any idea about starting a business in Sierra Leone or if you have started a business in Sierra Leone or interested in one please let me know. I was born in Sierra Leone and spent most of my teenage years there. I am also open to ideas in the US.

I suggest you start a line of business that you're interested with. Or something that you're passionate of.

Do you have any computer experience? Do you enjoy working on your computer? If so you should look into an internet business and you don't need more than a couple hundred dollars to do so.

I have been an entrepreneur since I was 18 and have always started business from scratch. I myself am moving into the internet business after spending 10 years in a very operational heavy business, lots of headaches with employees and managing the product.

Sierra Leone's government is about to hold a three-day conference in its capital Free Town on January 30 for a "rethink" on the part of its government with regard to its "development strategy and to chart a way forward towards peace and prosperity after 50 years of Independence."

If you are in Sierra Leone, now would be a great time to find out more about this conference. You might see an opportunity that is needed there while they are trying to recover from civil war.

I do know if the iron ore sector could be revived that it could potentially create jobs and infrastructure. But I don't know what talents you have or where you are currently located so I can't give the best ideas.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

I agree. Find something you're interested in. However the most important factor in deciding what business you'll start is to choose something that is in demand in your area. Find a type of business that exists in your area but do it better than they do.

Good luck with whatever you choose!
