check out your favorite stores and see what they are selling. I personally like to go with some popular items that are in style as of right now then I like to risk holding a couple of brands that I think have to potential to be big. Have you found any connects yet? I have a a couple email me at sprocket_365@yahoo.com.
If you're slowing me down then get out of my way, If not then I'm running you over

Try to get some sponsors to give away some free trial-size stuff. Free always draws people in!

Also, maybe feature a fashion show with appetizers.

add some womens golf apparel to your store, golf is always in fashion, and hand out flyers of your grand opening
and think about some cheap items to give out to bring peopel in, and tell peopel where your grand opening is at and the day
    and time and so on

I'd say have a celebrity or radio personality host the event, give away FREE goody bags, a fashion show and a cool raffle.

The best idea I can give you is DON'T put anything in your store that you wouldn't ever consider wearing. You don't want customers to come into your store, find something and ask you what you think of it, only to find the first thought in your head is: "EW. GROSS."

As for gaining a clientele, try putting out an ad on a popular radio station or offering a really great promotion (Sales, BOGO offers, etc.) and pass out or put up fliers about it around the area.

Does your store have a facebook fanpage yet? If so creating an online flyer with all that you plan on having at your opening (like what was suggested above: a celeb/personality/DJ, appetizers/bar, giveaways, sale going on) and getting some word out that way.

Offer an introduction special - introduce us to your friend and get "XX". I hate grand openings that just run sales - if you open with your products at 30% off retail, then why would they ever pay full price since the product was not even worth that on day one... It needs to be more then just a discount. It is all about the customer experience right now - so what is the stores customer experience? Young, fun, trendy? Then call your local modeling studios and see if you can put together an impromptu fashion show in your new location. Announce it via Facebook, and flyers... Have snacks (old fashion candy bar is affordable, looks great and gets talked about), drinks (virgin cosmos if you can not serve wine). See if a neighboring salon will do make-up fresh ups (eyes, cheeks, lips) for the ladies coming in... Easy, fun things that people can participate in. I have even set up tables for Fashion Bingo... each customer gets a bingo card and if they purchase 5 things in a row (any way) from the card they receive 25% off. It ups our UPT and ADS so much... gets many people into the store and is fun for us to help the customer complete their bingo!

These are all great--free stuff, raffles, are fantastic. Make sure to advertise your facebook fanpage or website or email mailing list during the grand opening too so you can connect with your customers later on for future sales!

I just came across your web site from msn and I just wanted to point out what a great post this was! On the other hand, I am making an attempt to add your existing Rss but I'm encountering issues locating it.

If your promoting products, one should see to it that testimonies about the product are tested and proven. Also consider the appearance of the venue of the product. Since it is a fashion clothes boutique, You may put mirrors so that it will give an illusion that your place is huge. Also, to promote your product, create blogs that will refer to the contents of your business taking into account, your passion to sell modern and up to date fashion clothes and accesories so that everybody will be aware that you also exist.
