A female entrepreneur who has spent her career within the corporate environment of business in an administrative capacity has already been trained in an important area of business where many men fear to tread. A good example would be the behind-the-scenes operations of a major law firm. A virtual army of women can be found scurrying up and down the corridors and stairwells, in and out of boardrooms and offices, frantically lining up at the photocopiers, courier desks, fax machines as well as the kitchens where you may find what looks like a performer preparing for her debut. Balancing a five pound stack of client briefs she has just spent half an hour coil-binding, a 12" stack of documents she has just spent an hour proof-reading, printing and compiling as handouts, in her pocket can be found a vast array of pencils, pens and colored highlighters, a box of paper-clips and stuck to her hand are undoubtedly several 'sign here' stickers which she will be placing on the signature page of all of these documents. In her other arm she is balancing a tray filled with water glasses, ice water, napkins, spoons, coffee cups and a fresh canister of coffee. This woman is the secret behind all successful business and client meetings like the unsung hero.
As an entrepreneur, a woman often brings with her a list of day-to-day skills that have become second nature to her whereas her male contemporary is more likely to have had to hire such an administrative wizard as a first priority. To be an entrepreneur is to be the chief cook and bottle washer of your business and the ability to multi-task is an absolute must. Here again we are looking at a quality that is inherent in the female in business. Beginning as a young girl she has been taught to multi-task with the guidance of her mother, as homes are kept clean, meals are prepared and served, kitchens are messed up and then cleaned, homework is done, clothes are cleaned and ironed and more often than not, shirts and socks are hand-delivered to the drawers of brothers and fathers. Women have fallen into the service industry as a means of upbringing whereas men more often than not, have not.
To be a successful entrepreneur is to be self-sufficient, self-sustaining, self-confident and self-empowered. As a woman entrepreneur, it is far more likely that you will be more apt to enjoy the process of multi-tasking and derive great personal satisfaction out of even the smallest of details. To you, these rewards are equally as important as the bottom line; it's just a woman-thing. The emotional make-up of the female psyche can be the difference between a job well done and a job that evidences the hand of a fanatic for details and a desire for an attractively finished project. A woman's intuition has been relied upon in business by male employers for decades
