    YoungEntrepreneur Policy - Read Administrator

This message is intended to the administrator. You should make it a rule that you must have 10 posts (or more) in order to post links. This will decrease the amount of spammers. Ive seen too many spammers lately. Or you can hire more people to monitor the boards. Just offering some advice.

    Thanks.

    Not a bad idea.
We will look into implementing this.
Does anyone know if this is something that is easily done in Vbulletin?

    Thanks,

    Adam T.

    Look here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/

I know a popular method is to have a minimum number of posts before new threads can be started....maybe consider that?

Its an advantage to stop spammers but then its not! Why? Becuase the spammers will post 10 bad posts all over anywhere and then will spam with their links, it will help to stop it if they are running spam bots as they wont be able to run though.

yeah i was kinda of sketchy about this idea. however, i dont think many spammers will go on and post 10 posts or we can raise the limit, to say 20. But then again, thats not really fair to the new, non spamming, members. well, its up to the administrator to decide.

As a new member, I'd like to give my opinion on this, and I have to say I think it would be a good idea. It would definitly help to cut down on some of the pointless topics. I do however think that 10 posts is better than 20, but I can see why this may have to be raised.

Another point I was thinking about was that you have to post in the introduction forum before you make posts in other categories. Its great to see the YE community grow but we need to keep some quality in it and stamp out spammers. Bestmiller keep on reporting them posts because it gives us a direct link to the spam to look at especially when we aren't on the forums to delete it.

Yeah I'm the one who deletes most your reported posts and everyone elses. All moderaters receive an email when the post is reported.

Just checked my profile and I had a (really) old address in there. I have since updated it and may start getting these reports.

Wow! Since I've updated my email address, I've received 7 of them within an hour and a half timeframe. It's kinda sad that people have to abuse such a good resource as this.
