    Young Entrepreneur Question

Hi everyone - I am writing an article on young entrepreneurs for the newspaper I intern at, Coast River Business Journal (located in Astoria, OR). I was hoping you all could give me some input...I was curious what age you all think constitutes a young entrepreneur. Some people say 30 and under, some say 25 and under, some say all people in Generation Y. What do you think?

I think a young entrepreneur is the same as a first time entrepreneur and you really can't classify it by age. If you story is going to focus on age I would write about the success that many teens find through the multiple ways to earn income using the internet.

Interesting thoughts, thanks! So you both think of 'young' more as a determinant of how long they've been an entrepreneur than their actual age?

One more question, do you believe that many (or most) entrepreneurs who begin at a young age have parents who were entrepreneurs? The people I am interviewing in my area all seem to, but I'm not sure if that's really a common element for most YE's.

It all varies some people are very business oriented where they learn the trade from their parents but others just have a natural ability to hustle from lemonade stands to web design companies to websites that incorporate their interests like video games. these young individuals who learn how to monetize their hobbies through google and other things are true entrepreneurs.

when you come to an online forum such as this you're going to see that the people found are perhaps more technologically inclined then what you're traditionally thinking of as b&m entrepreneurs.
