Hi,

I'm just curious to hear some experiences of other people that worked with their friends or family. How did that work out? Did you run into any problems or issues while working with them? Did it affect your actual relationship in any way?

Personally, right now I'm an equal partner with my brother which is working out very well. However, when I tried to involve two of my close friends into the business, it backfired and resulted in a big argument with both of them (different situations, though).

Its usually a bad idea to involve friends/family with money, but if it works for you, go for it.

If the family has been in business for years, or if the other members of the family are already inclined towards business, then it may be ok.

Dealing with family and friends can be more problems than it is worth, if all parties involved are not experienced, not team players, and don't fully understand how a business structure is created.
