I visit a few different business and webmaster forums on the net and it seems whenever someone says they want to make a certain amount of money or they want to be rich or something similar they get bashed for it.

Can you give us an example?
Hey e-helpdesk i was wondering how you transport your charmeleons from your e-store, my brother used to have a balded dragon (if that is the name).
Here is a post by a customer of ours. He did a very good write-up on the shipping process shortly after receiving one of our panthers. Check it out here:

Money is important, but it's not most important...because why exactly do you strive to make the money? Money is just a step in the process of getting what you really want. And no, I don't think people should get bashed for wanting to make money. Maybe it's the motives abnd reasons for wanting mor emoney that people should get bashed for. Is money is neccessary for survival, or is it human kindness that is necessary? It's human nature to continue surviving, just like any other being. And if making money is part of that process, than so be it. As a society we try to organize, but we never will truly be.

I think its because people should be doing business for the passion of their market, not money. For example, I should decide "Hey, I love boats, Im going to spend all day being with what I love by selling boats to others, and moeny will be a bonus" instead of "I want to make $10,000,000, what business can do this?!?!".
I think if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life, and the money will follow.
Not working to make money as your main motive.
Also, I get pissed of at money becoming a main subject on most message boards. For example people saying in their sigs "Net Worth: $25,000" or "an online millionaire" is just stupid, who really cares what your net worth is, and whats the point in claiming to be a millionaire? Increase your e-penis?

I dont believe this, I know plenty of people who do what they love and the money isnt and hasnt followed. However the other way round i think is right. Earning your money then doing what you love.Originally Posted by F360
IMHO being an entrepreneur is to make money, and having the freedom to do it your way. You risk more by being an entrepreneur but the rewards (profits) can be much much greater than a 9 - 5 job.
Well you do need some skills too. You cant expect to jump right into something with no knowledge. If you do what you love, become the person to go to in that industry with some hard work its possible.
If I love wakeboarding, I should learn all I can about the sport, work in some stores, learn the industry, start my own brand, get my name out, and get my business booming.
However, if my mum loves backing cakes, it would be alot harder making big money with a cake shop, but she could still author a few books, spend all day working on products etc (remember, because she loves cakes, this wont seem like work and she could easily work 12+ hours days).
Disclamer: My mum is not a cake loving behemoth, I just needed an example...ok!

I believe you on some of this, and the only reason i believe you on some of this is because doing something you love isn't always gonig to give you a successful business and being an entrepreneur is a risky business(but hey thats why we love itOriginally Posted by F360
) however most of what your saying is true on most cases like when we see some idiots go ''I want 10 million'' and then in the thread give me all your ideas, domains, and money so i can do this. pr something stupid like that.
I must admit i am annoyed when people want a get rich quick scheme or say they want millions with no plan to obtain itOriginally Posted by F360

My opinion with money is you will only be happy if you feel like you have earned it. For example high payed movie stars/sports stars / lottos winners they havnt actually earned there cash alot of them end up unhappy in the end, compared to people who have worked hard for there money. Personally i would prefer a dollar earned to a thousand won.
Because they have failed trying to make money so they will bash on anyone that tries - out of envy and spite.
That's just the way humans work.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.
I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.
