Which computer is best for business purposes?

I was thinking maybe a Macbook Air/Pro, but I heard they're not that fast. I need a portable computer that is fast and easy to use. I'd like it to be able to hold lots of stuff.

Do you want a laptop or desktop? If money is not an issue, Macbook Pros can be very fast, if you go on the website you can build your own. Get a fast processor and a decent amount of RAM, and if you want to hold a lot, get a big hard drive. Maxed out, these can be $3000-$4000 For desktops check out the Mac Pro, and then you can get a very fast processor, a lot of RAM, and a huge hard drive. These can get up to $20000, but you wont need it that fast. How much were you planning on spending though, and then i can tell you a good configuration?

Mkay Jay....this is a great question, but I'm afraid I have to ask you some questions first.

    1. What programs are you going to be running on this computer?
    2. Is this computer for business use? (general, specific, etc)
    3. Is this computer used for graphic design/video design?
    4. Do you need to be able to use internet explorer for any business website/web applications?

Answer these questions for me and I can shed some some light on what computers you should consider.

    What jrford said.

Most computers are massively overpowered for their user's needs nowadays, unless you're into A/V, design or gaming.
If you're only going to be doing wordprocessing, spreadsheeting, database work and some general internet stuff, then computers from even 5 years ago are probably more powerful than you need.

If you're getting a Windows based computer and you want speed, stick with XP.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I need a laptop and I will be using Microsoft Office frequently on it. I still like the Macbook Pro because I am pretty sure it runs Microsoft Office.

macs do run microsoft office, also, i think a macbook is a horrible choice for a business computer because they cost 4x as much. Ok, so maybe im biased, but honestly I just dont see the point in spending 2k on a laptop when I could get the same thing for 5-700..

Since you are using MS Office frequently, I'd suggest you get an Intel-based laptop running Win XP. You don't need a Mac, and Mac are much more expensive. Use Win XP, Win Vista is a horrible operating system IMO.

Most, if not all, laptops in the market are powerful enough for office applications. Weight and battery life should be the consideration factors if you move about frequently.

Usually depends on the type of work you're going to do.
If you love going out for a meeting then get a new laptop, or If you are a homebody type entrepreneur then, go for a desktop.

You can check some websites that offers good discounts on laptops and PCs
