I have been making it without a "job" for almost 8 months now. I am a freelance web designer. However my marketing skills have been getting rather stong lately. Just landed my first
SEO/Internet Marketing client.
It's a biggie...I am rather nervous. Stress brings out the best of me though.
I know this is slightly off topic but it would be cool to get some feedback on the proposal I wrote for the guy. I know it was good enough because I landed the account but... This was the first proposal I wrote and wanted to know what maybe I could have done better.
Phase 1:
Optimize your physical website for search engine readability.
This includes:
* Creating keyword rich Titles for each page that correlate with the content on each page.
* Researching the best keywords to target for a high ranking among all 3 search engines.
* Re-construction of your meta-tags for search engine readability.
* Implementing the researched keywords into your meta-tags.
* Re-structuring your content to be rich with keywords and increase likely hood of sales.
* Adding proper alt tags to each image.
When this is all completed I will run a web standards validation test on every page. This will help me find minute mistakes that search engines could have found, and make your site look less then professional. After the validation test has been run I will fix all mistakes, if any, and then add notification to your site that it now complies with all the latest web standards. While I am doing this Lance will be creating Craiglist.com advertisements, and more adverts in free real-estate classifieds across the nation.
Phase 2:
If phase 1 was the salad and appetizers, then phase 2 is the Filet and wild rice. This is the part where we go deep and wide with the Internet marketing. Before I start I will install a traffic tracking system for you, so you can view the results of my work immediately. I need to speak with you further to pinpoint my strategy, but this is what I have in mind so far:
* Article submissions to establish you as an expert in your field.
* Professionally designed Myspace.com page for networking
* Constant advertisements classifieds sites. (50+ in mind so far!)
* Forum (message boards) communication with the public, which builds trust.
* Professional Press Release for your new launch.
* Ebay marketing (headed by Lance this is his specialty and my weakness)
* PPC campaigns and other low-cost advertising.
In doing all this we will be hitting your target audience on all fronts. They will have no choice but to acknowledge your existence. Not to mention Google will be picking up on all this activity now also. The article submissions and classified ads are how I got my #5, #7, and #10 listings on Google within 2 days. It does not create an actual listing for your physical site...but it does on even better. The article that gets listed 1.) establishes you as an expert in your industry and 2.) pre-sells the viewer. This creates traffic that is already sold on you personally. So when they get to your website all you need is a way to capture their information.
I will be implementing web 2.0 type technology in your site to capitalize on your new traffic stream.
This will include:
* Skype me now button
* Bookmark this site button
* Tell a friend button
* and Email list building features for weekly/monthly newsletters.
Phase 3:
DESSERT!!! This is the phase where we start a link building campaign. The way to a womens heart is chocolate, well the way to Google's heart is relevant links from already trusted web sites. Sometimes you have to buy these and sometimes webmasters are willing to trade. Link building will drive your sites rankings up the google ladder as it finds each new link to your site from its already trusted sites.
Pricing:
You could not get all of this service from just one company. Usually a business hires someone to take this on in house for $50-$90 an hour. The other option is to hire 2-3 different companies to handle all of the services I am offering. The reason I am able to provide all of this, and at lower prices, is because I do not have a payroll or overhead to worry about.
I have already proved my traffic generating and back door into google techniques. I am willing to set up a lower starting price due to the fact, that I don't already have a portfolio to provide proof of my
SEO techniques. I plan to prove myself to you and in doing so will ask that the monthly price get raised at certain milestones of achievement. Below is the pricing structure I am offering:
* $1,000 to start, this lets me give you first priority and dedication.
* $500/month to start, and increased to $750 after 100 hits a day and high back door google listings are achieved.
* $1,250/month (final price) once I have achieved a high ranking for your site in any or all of the major search engines.
The final price is to maintain your high ranking status for you and continually try to raise it. Search engines constantly change their algorithms and without proper attention your listing could drop right back into the sandbox. I will be there to fight that battle for you to make sure it does not become a worry. I look forward to being your personal Internet marketer. We will need to be in contact at least weekly if not more. I am an extension of you and will be acting as your Internet publicist. I will need you to approve of advertisements and teach me more about your industry (target audience) so that my marketing efforts are as precise as possible.
