Question What's the Best Free Website Creation and Hosting Service?

And, that's it! I've looked at Weebly and FreeWebs. Are there others? And which is the best?

    It depends what you're after.

If you don't mind a blog, have you tried WordPress.com » Get a Free Blog Here or Google's www.blogger.com?

Actually, I want something that has options for forums, blogs, wikis, etc... the good stuff. Not necessarily everything, but a lot of options. Thanks, I did see Blogger.

Your problem can be solve with $20. Many hosting companies offer a $1.99 hosting plan p/month when you sign for 12 months.

Yeah, a lot of hosts have plug-n-play scripting.
Just drop in what you want, and then add a basic interface that you knocked together in PHP on something like Dreamweaver.

I have actually used both and really not heard of anyother ones. I personally like freewebs.com for the fact that it has many more options and is much easier. If you were to pick freewebs or weebly definately go with freewebs.com

Unfortunately, I don't have $20, hahaha. I just started doing dishes and sweeping, etc. to make a couple bucks a week. But, when I start making a bit of cash, maybe I'll look into non-free hosts, try to learn HTML or hit someone up to make a site for me.

I think I'll start a blog for myself (TechieCentral? Techie_929... maybe,... Techie... hmmm....). Mostly, though, I want a site for my game dev team to brainstorm, also a separate blog for the game's progress.

What about Jimdo (jimdo.com)? Have you ever heard of them? It's a free website creation tool, really easy and fun - I can highly recommend to try it.

Ok since your are starting off. Here is my recommendation:
    1) Start a blog and build some traffic. - This way you can study traffic managament, analysis.
    2) Build resources. - Link partners, content builders, etc.
    3) Build a foundation - Don't just learn HTML, learn XHTML, CSS and learn how to make your code W3C valid.

At least for now you don't even need a free hosting services. You can have your own personal test server in your pc. When you are ready to publish something then use a free services. Then later get your own hosting.

    Is natural grow.

Thanks! I hadn't thought about starting a blog to study website and traffic management.

Another question: Is there a privacy feature I can find? I want to know that only my team members can see the forum, or some parts of it.

Wetpaint is good. Weebly is ok but limited if you go free. Avoid synthasite at all costs -- it's dire.

what about 'piczo'....I personally don't really like it....but it may be good for brainstorming as there's an option to have a chat bar on your page...like an msn type thing.

If you get your domain and hosting with One.com Web hosting**-**Domain • Hosting • E-mail** (they're pretty cheap) then you have the option to add a blog through using their online builder. The blogs look really good, are easy to customise and you can login while viewing the blog meaning updates and edits can be made quickly and easily! Really do recommend it
