    What is your startup?

    Curious to know

    1. What kinds of businesses and websites everyone has started up!?!?!
    2. How long did the process take from start to finish ?
    3. Initial Investment ?
    4. Did you outsource any parts of your project
    5. Number 1 thing you learned and other advice for fellow entrepreneurs?

Might be helpful to some of us and very interesting as well

National Charity Services (Started May 2006)
Donate A Car To Charity -- Charity Dispatch -- Donate A Car (under construction for SEO)
    Initial Investment $6500 loan
    Annual Sales 1.5M (projected 2008)

    Capital Transport (Started April 2008)
Welcome to Capital Auto Auction (web portal- no independent site)
    Initial Investment $4000 personal money
Annual Sales $250K (projected 2008- not a full year)

    GoGets (Starts July 2008)
Welcome to GOGETS.COM (currently parked- site goes beta next week!)
    Initial Investment $12000 personal money
    No projections to be given

Progressive Logistics Group (Started May 2008)
    Site not in development yet
No Investment Needed (this is a brokerage service similar to NCS but geared towards government accounts)
Annual Sales $700K (we already have our first contract in place)

All web development and SEO has been outsourced.

I've learned to invest carefully as I have wasted a great deal of money by not properly planning. I've also learned that staffing is not easy. I've run much larger companies (as a GM) but this is my first go round at my own companies. Finding the right people is not easy at all.

National Charity Services is now two years old yet I still consider it a start-up. I don't know if there will ever be a day when I consider the start-up process over.

I haven't done much yet, just selling wholesale products through eBay and those kinds of sites.
