Ermm.... I havent done any internships yet but I'll be travelling to another country where I have secured a place in IT Support this summer.

I have done:

Local (Wheaton/Kensington MD) Chamber of Commerce. I did this the summer between 8th grade and freshman year, no compensation of any kind. I was primarily an IT consultant, helping them with Excel & Word stuff, etc... It was also nice to see how a chamber of commerce worked though, I got a real good feel for local business.

Union Labor Life Insurance Company - Accounting Internship. Summer between Freshman & Junior year of college, $12/hr. I did tons of Excel work and not much else, it was a nice internship. I didn't learn a ton though, and I wasn't an accounting major, so I just sorta went along with it.

Spring 2003 - Morgan Stanley - Financial Advisor Internship.
I *hated* this shit, it's the reason I dislike sales. It involved making 700 phone dials a day, 90% of them to "Do Not Call" list numbers, to which the system wouldn't let you connect. When you got a person, you tried to convince them to come to a "seminar" where the financial advisor would scare them by telling them they'd retire poor, pretty much. Then you'd try to sell them investment products. I mean, this wasn't some fly-by-night company either, it was fucking Morgan Stanley, but it was really this bad. NEVER again.
