Hi,
Just posing the question -
What feature would you like to see in a mobile phone?
It could be a new idea, or a play on an existing idea. Just interested to find out what people want from a mobile (cell) phone most.

it's in James bond: die another day...the asian guy takes a picture of James when he hops off the plane in the beginning of the movie and then 2 minutes later all his info came up..i want to do that to other peoplelol
I just went to Japan for 2 weeks and noticed that a majority of people there shop with their phones. They have something in their phone that allows them to buy things at grocery stores, clothing stores, etc.. and the dollar amount is just charged to your cell phone bill. Pretty insane, but that whole country is just a step ahead of everywhere else. I think that would be a great option, but I don't think that will ever happen outside of Japan.

this is my cell phone, cool isn't it?![]()
Yeah I remember watching something on TV showing howin japan you can pretty much live your life with a cell phone. Not just shop but I saw how people also unlock their houses with cell phones.
The things about Japan is that people like to spend money on technology, thats why you always see the newest, hottest phones and gadgets in general being released over there.

About the topic at hand, to be honest I have always wanted a custom designed cell phone to suit all my needs, the design, color, ports, and of course features and software...I can certainly do with a small but comfortable to use cell phone that also enables me to customize the features.

If you are conducting this survey as segue into developing a mobile phone application, I highly suggest whatever app it is you decide to create that you build it on the Google Android development platform for mobile phones.
Google just announced $10M in prizes for developers!
"In the Android Developer Challenge I, the 50 most promising entries received by March 3 will each receive a $25,000 award to fund further development. Those selected will then be eligible for even greater recognition via ten $275,000 awards and ten $100,000 awards."

I like the Iphone, but:
- Needs to be MMS enabled
- Need to be able to save pictures from the net
- List needs to be able to check off items when completed
- Needs GPS
Some interesting responses so far!
The reason I posted was for a bit of market research. I'm currently working with someone and I've told them about some of my previous business ventures, one of which was trying to design a new mobile phone for the market (I did get a design done, and found a manufacturer, but couldn't meet their MOQ).
They said they may like to pursue that idea with me, if we could find a niche market or introduce a new feature/improve an existing one. We've only talked about it once, but I decided to find out if there are any features people would really like to see.

oh yeah, definitely i'd love a GPS integrated into it
Dont we already have something like that?oh yeah, definitely i'd love a GPS integrated into it
No, they actually make the stuff. The reason they are so advanced in terms of technology also depends on their characteristic to try new things and the ability to improve on them. The things about Japan is that people like to spend money on technology, thats why you always see the newest, hottest phones and gadgets in general being released over there.
Feature I would want is an online comic or magazine viewer and subscription. In the same sense, also a Tivo-like feature for the delivery of shows.
Customizable, character interface AI sounds intriguing and fun.
Voice/Text recognition, something where you speak to your phone any it automaticly writes the text for you.
What about a multi person phone call, just like Skype or Teamspeak
I like the voice/text recognition feature. Good idea! Also why not Gaim? And a built-in tracer system.
do we already have phones that can play movies?
