Were your parents entrepreneurs?

Researchers say parents rub their entrepreneurship off on their kids.

Was one of your parents an Entrepreneur?

My parents are definately entrepreneurs and when I was younger, it was something I didn't want to do when I grew up because they made me help them out during the weekends with their business. This is all good but making you wake up early on the weekends and not doing what your friends do but instead work was what I didnt' like and that sort of pushed me away. I told myself that I never want to have my own business.

Of course as I got older and started to work for others, I realized what it meant to have your own business. All the extra hard work & sacrificed weekends do pay off in the end. Besides, having something that you started from scratch and see it take shape and grow is the best part.

Hahahaha.
I think parents do rub entrepreneurship to their child and in the long run, it stays with the child.

Interesting - what do you consider an entrepreneur then?

My dad is a dentist and has his own office. It's pretty good sized now (staff and patient wise). My mom was a hygentist at the office but she retired and now goes to college studying art. I don't know if their entreprenuer traits rubbed off on me, but I think that me being an entrepreneur has nothing to do with my parents. But it doesn't hurt working at my dad's office either. =)

Never! I think they're the opposite actually....they see the issue of entrepreneurship as excessive risk

I share the exactly same situation. I know that everytime I bring up the subject of being an entrepreneur, they have their little insecurities.

My dad started a veterinary clinic in Wisconsin. So yes. He worked harder than anyone else's parents, it seemed, but I definitely think it rubbed off on me.
