    Question Web Designers & Developers

Do you guys think web designers and developers deal with a lot of competition online?

I know only one or two on another forum, and according to them they actually make a (good) living online...but they've been doing it for years so they've got a good reputation and its easy for them to find customers because it's the customers finding them.

It's what I want to do; it's what I want to be...

How can I find customers who will give me a chance instead of giving the more reputed ones the job, so I can build my portfolio?

Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions.

Krupt I like your style of design. Your good. Zharlene, are you actually as god as the market dominators? If you are then you have no problem. You can put a sponsored link up on google, to get you an advert at the top of google, but you have to bid a certain amount per click. To bid on the search term "web design" you would be looking at paying atleast £1 per click. Also, could you not target businesses that might be in need of a website? Go for it! dont think about it, just do it.
