Top 5 Business Apps for the iPhone

As a business person, think of the things that you most need… no, I meant aside from money.

If you’re a business person on the go, or if you want to be one, you need your files with you. You need trackers and reports. You need apps to monitor costs, income and profit. You need to be in constant contact with your customers, and you need to be organized.

The Apple iPhone is just one of the best and coolest inventions ever created, why? Because of the cool apps that can transform your iPhone into virtually anything you want it to be. Imagine the world in your pocket. Game console, music station, virtual classroom, mobile office, you name it, the iPhone can be it. Which means, and this is not an advertisement, this is why you might want to have one.

There are thousands of apps designed and developed by a lot of different people from bored programmers to the largest of software developing firms that iTunes is a virtual shopping mall. Out of these thousands of apps, how do you find the ones that would work best for you?

We know your needs as a business owner. We’ve mine for the apps that would address these needs so that you don’t have to. Here are five business apps that you might want to have on your iPhone.

iAnywhere Mobile Office (FREE) is the Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange of the iPhone. It supports email, calendars, tasks and contacts. You can hook it up with your company email server and have your office work station right in your pocket. What’s more it’s secure. All data stored in your iPhone are encrypted for added security.

Salesforce CRM Mobile (FREE for the first 30 days) allows you to view costumer records, contacts, accounts and different tasks on your iPhone. You can log every pertinent data on a customer transaction, change records, log calls and such, and retrieve data at the touch of a finger, literally. It’s very important to keep up to date with your customer information so this will definitely help in that field as well as improve your productivity since it leaves you with more time to interact with your customers rather than paperwork.

ReaddleDocs (S9.99) is a complete document and files management solution that allows you to download and view files on your iPhone. It supports PDF and Microsoft Office files as well as .txt, .rtf and .html files. You can also save attachments from email using Readdle Storage, which is an online storage that comes with your ReaddleDocs account. It also allows for password protection and support for zip archives. It’s an all-in-one files management package which works really well. What it doesn’t do is allow you to edit the document on the iPhone.

Ledger ($3.99) is another highly useful and very important business app. It’s a great, easy-to-use accounting application that allows you to track your money. You can record your purchases, money transfers, bank transactions, loans, anything that has anything to do with money, and this app helps you compute debits and credits like an accountant. It even warns you of unbalanced transactions. This makes accounting looks as easy as 1-2-3.

Keeper ($0.99) is a password and data security app for the iPhone. When you carry your office in your pocket, it’s important that you not only protect your office, but the data within that office as well. Keeper protects your data with “128-bit military AES encryption” and erases all your important information if the password is entered incorrectly five times. Kind of like, Mission Impossible if your iPhone gets stolen. This iPhone will self-destruct in five seconds.

Of course there are thousands upon thousands of iPhone apps that may work better for you, or are more useful for you and your type of business. It’s just that with these five, they have your business covered.

What other iPhone apps can you recommend?
