The UK has officially created a Space Agency

UK launches space agency | Tech News on ZDNet Is it just me or does it seem like the US is getting out of the space industry right when things start to pick up? We're finally at a point in history when commercial space flight is picking up steam and the United States is jumping out of the way instead of leading the way.

Yup, it's a travesty. (our lack of interest in space, not the UK's plunging into it)

Though I did hear a little tidbit on the radio today that NASA was spending an average of $66/day per employee on OJ and bagels. Just more govt waste.

It's sad, because we accomplished the greatest feat in the history of mankind, then spent the last 30 years in orbit. Pretty soon we'll have to hitch rides on other people's equipment.

There's no way in hell it's even remotely possible to spend $66/day on OJ and Bagels per employee. That money's definitely being funneled into something else.. (most likely stolen).
