The Pickup Artist ep. 1 on Google Vid

    Entertainment at its finest.

Summary: "Eight lonely, socially inept men travel to Austin, Texas, to receive guidance and training from the world's greatest pick-up artist, Mystery. They learn that the weakest student will be eliminated each week until only one remains to be crowned a Master Pick-up Artist. But before the education begins, the students are sent into a nightclub to show Mystery their pick-up skills, then Mystery and his wingmen show the awed students how it's really done."

I watch this Friday evening on VH1 - it was very funny! On the other hand, I understood what those guys were going through.

I think it's interesting to watch something that you can relate to as a person.

I haven't seen these videos or on VH1, but I have read the book "The Game" which is very interesting. It is about Style who is a writer and learns to be one of the greatest pickup artists from learning from the best (Mystery, Ross Jeffries, among others). Its pretty entertaining.

One of the reasons I read it is because I actually know one of the main characters in the book, Papa.

What were some of the other reasons?

Another reason was because a friend of mine helped the writer with the book and is in the acknowledgements. Also, a lot of my friends had read it before me and suggested it.
I am in a relationship and did not read it to learn how to pick up girls. But it was interesting to learn their techniques... they could be used in other areas. Especially things like NLP, which can be used in business (although in my opinion, there could be an ethical issue with this).

I used to be a pick artist... Sarging is fun. Mystery and Style are amazing. There is alot in common between selling and picking up women, there really is. Especially the approach. That fear when your approaching a ramdom girl is the same fear as when you are trying to sell something to someone you never met.

I understand the fear concept of approaching a girl and getting rejected, or a customer and getting shut down. The way i look at is that if they shut me down then I will most likely never see them again so...what the hell take a chance and see what comes out of it.

Yea, that makes sense logically, but humans are only logical to a certain extent. We are way more emotional, so the only thing that gets rid of a fear is facing it head on.
