The Covenant - Anyone seen it?

I just bought The Illusionist today and was contemplating picking up The Covenant, has anyone seen it? I dug Underworld 1/2 and apparently it's the same people behind that film. Just curious if it's worth the $20 or not. What about The Illusionist, I haven't watched it yet but Jessica Biel is always worth the $20.

Also I just went to YGG and they released version 3 today, www.younggogetter.com - looks pretty sweet.

lots of zombies, other assorted evil spirits AND it's pretty good

or, for something with a bit of kick, you can't walk past peter jacksons (the guy who did lord of the rings) braindead

it's as good as it sounds!

...err...might be banned in your neck of the woods though

Just watched The Illusionist. Although not as good as The Prestige, it was still a sweet flick. Norton is awesome and Biel has amazing ASSets

I enjoyed The Illusionist, I saw it at the dollar theater though. So it was worth the money, I don't know if it would be worth paying for on DVD.

just watched black dhalia, it's an unremarkable cut and paste job mixing Sin City and LA Confidential. Best to avoid.

For a more meaningful cinema experience, I'd suggest the Throne of Blood. It's an extraordinary action movie, that's been copied by Hollywood (with little success) for 50 years. For me, it's sort of like the ideal of what action movie should be like.

One thing people first notice about the Throne of Blood is the complexity of the protagonist. In movies like the Black Dhalia, the Illusionist and so on, the lead character is either easy to like, or easy to hate. Most movies fail at achieving both and leave the audience completely apathetic to the lead character. In Throne of Blood, Kurosawa defines what an "action hero" is, by achieving a degree of character portrayal where the audience has both an intense hatred and admiration for Washizu.

Really, I reckon that Toshirô Mifune makes all the Schwarzeneggers and the Stalones of this world, look like bumbling little cry babies. If you wanna see a warrior lost in the depth of madness, hell bent on world destruction - I highly recommend this Japanese adaptation of Macbeth.
