What do you trade ??? i do indu,cable,spx and dax using the CMC platform.

I trade indu, otc, pink sheets or sometimes ipo's with my technical analysis. And sometimes I'll play the FDA approvals.

Sounds good,i started trading in 1989 manually inputing prices then moved on to a teletext update facilty in the early 90s then a Realtime charting/pricing platform with Prestel then internet realtime when broadband came out.For about 4 years i ran the Etrade CFD Direct Market Access which was a superb setup this allowed you some benefits that ment that you could go direct to the market using the 10 minute windows before the start of trading and after the market closed these are the UK marketing hours i am talking about hence 7.50 and 16.40 this was handy for when stocks go ex dividend on a wednesday you could buy on the tuesday night in the closung session and as long as you were seen to own the stocks on the wednesday morning you collected the dividend and you then had the abilty to exit the stock in the 10 minute window before the opening bell.
I still have that account but it is dormant at this current moment in time the only one i use these days i the CMC S/B and a Full Level 2 package which means that i can legal get away without paying capital gains or tax on your winning pot which is a great bonus.

Yeah i just got into the stock market after this crash, its going to suck when I have to pay taxes on my gains.

So do you day trade? Or just invest?

Only Day trading although i do have term investments in other areas like stamp investments with a 10-15 year hold time and i own 3 properties as i dont have any pensions anymore as these have been transfered into higher returning investments.

I trade options but the strategies are longer than day trading style. More like 20-30 day trades.

Yeah I like options too but I normally do spreads or if i really want the stock I buy Puts

Well I normally just day trade using Technical Analysis(buy the rumor and sell the news). But if I really like the stocks like GE,X,XOM,IBM(Symbols) I Buy options.

You trade at all or invest in stocks somewhat?

Watch out dude. The market is going to enter crash mode soon (I'd say between now and fall of '10) . Sad to say but the USA are toast in the long term.The dollar will go bust so try to focus on foreign markets like Australia, Canada, India and Europe for your trades and long term investments IMHO.


I mostly trade FDA picks and will be looking to invest in commodity related stocks/Etf's when they are cheaper (say 30-50% below current levels)

Btw, how much taxes do you guys have to pay on capital gains?

Doubt there will be a crash...But I normally day trade and take my money out every night.
