You need something tangible. The first thing you should do is focus on your product. That's number one. Make a prototype or code a beta version. Then start showing it to people, they will tell you how awful your product is so you go back and make improvements. This is the best form of market research.

Put together 10 - 15 PowerPoint slides with notes - that's your business plan. No one will read a 45 page document so don't write one. Once you get early sales, you should look to get investment and advice from a business angel. They will help you grow your business. They key for you is not to waste your time.

You should not quit your job. Instead spend 10 - 12 hours of your free time on your business at the start. If your business takes off, then quit your job.
