What gets me is that in the UK the price of red roses triples in price just for that one day so what i do is get them the night before and keep them in a cool place then give my wife them next morning.Its not that i am tight with my money its just i dont like being ripped off big time.

Create an illusion of some special-day you have had together(preferably the first, but any SPECIAL day you have had). Get her the same clothes she wore(Beginners mistake not to write it down), if she still have them. Otherwise buy her some similar. Preferably get her the same parfume she wore. Then the easy part - relive the special moment but with some "twist".

It does not really have to be the exact same things, just make sure that you tell her your reasoning about the choices. (It is by the sea as this is the restaurant most similar to the one we met at blabla)

And you might have done this already, I know.
