I'm sorry your website name got taken.. I know, it really sucks when you put so much time and effort into something, and then that happens.
Maybe just take a day to clear your mind.. Order a pizza, have some beer and invite some friends over.

Then tomorrow, start fresh with some brainstorming. Perhaps you can come up with something even more awesome and catchy, that you wouldn't have come up with since you were focusing so much on just the one name.

I kinda like the last idea of todaysf*ckingnews. It really does show that it's current.. which is important in our fast, high-tech world.
    Or thef*ckingdaily?

Don't just completely ditch your great idea though. I'm sure you'll think of something great. Chin up

I did the same for a domain that was on sale...but someone beat me by the punch. I was FURIOUS.

It was on GoDaddy, but recently, I've learned that Godaddy buys the domain with intent of re-selling it to someone else or you.

I now loathe and hate Godaddy for their dirty tactics.

I'm not sure what your OCD is with just using cash but that is going to cause you more issues down the road than anything. All online transaction requires a card (debit and/or credit) and its an annoying hassle not having it and as an entrepreneur, I dare argue its a necessary tool.

No one at banks or credit cards company really cares about where you spend your money. Sure there are companies out there that thrive on this information to make better marketing choices but on a single individual level, its almost nothing.

Having said that, if you're going to pay with cash anyway, you might as well use a credit card with rewards associated with it so you can earn cash back or points towards something. As long as you pay the balance in full, majority of legit and large credit card issuers do not charge interest (unless you carry a balance). This is a meaningful way to earn extra money or rewards on top of your spending (depending on how much you spend of course). But something is better than nothing and the power it gives you to leverage it when you need it is vital.

    Just some food for thoughts.

Don't dwell on it! You sound like a person with passion and drive. So you took a chance and lost. itfckinghappens! Just learn from it and find something even bigger!

You're going to be alright. We've all fallen along the way, I have many times. The people that claim they've never fallen must be living life in a wheelchair?

I rarely check this forum, and I always forget I posted this. (When I did, it was like 4AM my time... I couldn't sleep so I got online to do some work and saw the domain was bought).

Its not a big deal, I have some new projects. At the time I was pretty pumped up and passionate about this one because of its appeal to the 18-25 demographic and I like the news, so it would of been a fun project.

I definitely learned my lesson, don't start a project unless you already have the domain.
