So I have a very small dilemma

I am working on creating an online community, something like a myspace. It is definitely in a niche, and I am very confident in it. My issue is I need a web developer and such. I know that I will need a team to do this project, but I don't know any local people qualified for it, and I do not trust partnering with random people on the internet. So I'm stuck in a small rut...

You can put an ad in at craigslist asking for freelance web developers. That is how I landed my project, ratinghq.com. I replied to an ad, I help build traffic and write content for the site. What is your online community? You may try writing social blogs with your link in it. Just and idea.

You're wasting your time and money man. Put it into something different.

    Like I just said:

Hundreds of social networking sites with over 1 million people

    thousands with over 100,000 people

tens of thousands with over 1000 people and growing.

    Its saturated.

Common knowledge is to stay away from a saturated market...especially one that is THAT saturated.

    Like I just said.

There is still opportunity for NICHE social networks.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.
