Ryze

Well I broke down and joined Ryze yesterday. I am having mixed feelings about the system. Of the handful of networks I joined, most are dead with very little posts and the others are talkative.

Not surprising, the talkative ones are the womans groups LOL.

Anyone else a member? What are your thoughts and impressions?

Karen

I am - and to be honest I have found it completely worthless to me.

Interestingly enough, the majority of people I found who are active in some of the networks I joined, I already know from other locations. Seems almost silly to network with them there when I already network with them elsewhere.

On the positive side, I have found the local meeting times for several functions. Then again, I didn't have to join Ryze for this information.

How's that for total flip flopping?

I actually found it quite irritating. When I was a member I must have received about 5-10 messages a day of people who don't share any of my interests begging me to sign their book and add them to my list - it's just another game for bored people to play and see who can get the largest networking group. Hardly productive...

My experience were much the same as Eric's. I joined because I wanted to know what social networking was all about, but I don't think I ever found out

I have to say it was a similar story at a local chamber of commerce networking event. Lots of people chatting away all hoping to sell something, but eveyone was selling, no was was interested in buying!

Ryze has been a great tool for me and I do see some of the same people there that I see elsewhere but I do meet new people often.

I resist the popularity game and limit my friend list to those who I truly consider to be a trustworthy contact. I also limit my networks.

Ryze has been embraced by the work at home Mom commmunity and obviously that is my niche, so it works well for me.

Ryze

Yeah, Ryze is primarily a place to post messages and I agree with Eric when he said that most people just begged me to sign their guest book. Its an okay system but not extremely productive for me.

I joined... not sure why...

I did the math, and it turns out that I get, on average, 6 e-mails an hour from them.

And it's true, everyone wants to sell, no one wants to buy. I prefer this kind of forum where no one is really trying to sell anything, it's just a community of like-minded people who truly want to help others succeed.

Ryze versus YE? I know who will win, hands down.
