    Lightbulb Riches 'vs' Poverty

When riches take the place of poverty, the change is usually
brought about through well conceived and carefully executed
plans. Poverty needs no plans. It needs no one to aid it,
because it is bold and ruthless. Riches are shy and timid. They
have to be 'attracted'. Do you agree or disagree?

I would have to agree on this! You have to search hard for the riches. but you can sit around and do nothing for poverty to find you!

Well, anybody can wish for riches, and most people do.
But only a few know that a definite plan, backed with
a burning desire for wealth, creates riches 'vs' poverty.

Yeah... I'm sure many people who are categorized as riches could just as well be wishing to be poverty. Now hear me out right quick. You may not believe it but some people I believe whole-heartedly understand they are powerful and have lots of money and respect and all of that is great, but remember, living rich means sometimes not living a normal life. Like, you won't be able to go somewhere without all the paparazzi and camera flashes, etc.

I would like to be rich one day, but not to the point where paparazzi stays on your ass as bad as they do Lindsay Lohan or some pop star.

You said it... riches should be spread between the physical, mental, and spiritual.

The only way your going to get paparazzi is if you are famous. You can be rich and not a soul knows you.

^^ How rich are we talking? Bill Gates is rich everyone knows, same with Warren Buffet.

When you get rich (unless you live back in some wooded area where nobody knows you) -- your bound to have nosy ass neighbors be on the lookout for you and try to get the scoop and everything. They'll see you in your nice large house, a fresh lawn a smile on your face every morning and a BMW... they're not going to think your broke, but the opposite of broke

Someone's been reading and quoting Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. Good Stuff. Anyway, what that meant is being wealthy/rich needs a lot of gearing up. You'll need to have a plan, perseverance, and clear cut desire. If you seek such position in life, it will eventually come to you if you get your s*** right.

Where as to be poor there isn't a blue print to follow. You don't even have to gear up for it. You're poor without trying.

How many of us would have actually known who Robert Kiyosaki was if he didn't write the Rich Dad books? Probably a slim number.

And even if we did, like popular business men like Warren Buffet, Richard Branson, etc. - they wouldnt be getting chased by the paparrazi. How many times have we seen Warren Buffet on the cover of People Magazine? In all actuality, the only successful businessman that gets mainstream "gossip" is Donald Trump and thats because he almost goes looking for it.

Just because your rich doesn't make you famous and just because your famous doesn't mean you're rich. I believe I read an article that stated Michael Jordan would have to 233 years old while still recieving the same promotional royalties each year to match Bill Gates' worth. And in terms of popularity many more people are carrying around MJ merchandise than Bill Gates merchandise.

Makes logical sense LT, my dumb fault for not understanding that in the first place

DJ... but tell me something, if your well known, your rich and successful and your name is "out there" --- do you really think you could go to the mall or to a grocery store without someone treating you like your the president or wanting your signature or whatever? To some, this may be a good feeling, but to other's although we may be rich, we want to live normal lives as well, just because some may own a BMW and/or a LARGE condo and a house and 20 motorcycles and have thousands of dollars doesn't make us anymore special.

The moral is: We're all humans and we deserve to be treated like humans, its good to be a role model and have people ask for signatures and everything but not to the point where we get countless offer for interviews, etc.

has anyone here read The Millionaire Next Door?

Does anyone know people just like those depicted in the book?

They are all over the place, but people just don’t know it.

Exactly what I was thinking, brilliant book.

But you are looking at poverty and wealth as two financial states, but really poverty is just a lack of wealth. And so by default, without wealth there is poverty.
