    Registering a copyright?

Hi guys, I don't want to "form a company" but I want to reigster my name I use online.

    I am Hollister Bay

I do freelance web work - I don't want to actually form a LTD company or something but just want to register or copyright the name hollisterbay

    Is this possible?

    I'm in UK

If I search online, I can find sites you can register the name but it forms a company and you get like a certification of incorporation

but then it becomes like Hollister Bay Ltd

Can't I just copyright my name as in Hollister Bay?

Well, I dunno what the prices are, but brand and name protection can costs a lot of money.

It could be cheaper if you protect a combination like your name and a specific activity, or if you are protecting it local.

But worldwide it will probably cost a lot more then the 300 you mentioned.

Hmmm, you want a trademark, not copyright.

Copyrights are for material such as books or information you want to sell. Copyrights protect you from someone else stealing your book or information.

Look into a business trademark. That's what you want.
