    Arrow Osama bin Laden

Where's this guy, has anyone seen him around anywhere?

All we see and hear are his video and audio messages but where is he? How come "no one knows where to find him"?

Anyone, huh, anyone, Bueller, huh, anyone, Beulah, anyone...?

While I would never suggest that a person hasn't the right to make a movie like this, I don't know if Morgan Spurlock is taking this entirely seriously. Certainly the trailer seems to do nothing but poke a thumb in the eye of efforts to find Bin Laden, but a CNN interview (YouTube - New Documentary: Where in the world is Osama Bin Laden?) reveals that he was afraid and took the training (that he poked fun at in the trailer) very seriously. He makes comment to being afraid about going to places where people might be shooting at him. No doubt non of this translates to the film when watched in a theater. "Documentaries" such as these show you what they want you to see, and not necessarily all the pertinent facts.

CNN, of course, answers it's own question about whether or not Spurlock actually found Bin Laden by stating where the the government believes him to be. Had Spurlock actually found Bin Laden, Bin Laden's capture would have been world news, and not necessarily because Spurlock would have brought him in.

CNN's Peter Arnett got an interview with Bin Laden back in 1997, and the only post September 11th interview was given to Al Jazeera on October 21 of 2001.

Much conjecture is given to the where abouts of Bin Laden currently. Some think he's already dead, and that these tapes are forgeries. Others, including CNN, believe him to be in the rugged mountainous region between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I even heard someone suggest that we already have Bin Laden, that we are behind the continually released tapes to keep the war going, blah, blah, blah. I you believe that I suggest you go outside during the day and feel the warmth of the sun instead of hiding in your parents basement and taking for granted that the sun is cold because "some blogger" online said so.

Credibility doesn't come from being facetious.

Peter Bergen was the first one to conduct the first television interview with Osama Bin Laden in 1997 and has written many books and articles on him. So, he probably has an idea of where about he might be....?

Seriously, who cares, in my humble opinion, I think the U.S ( I was born in the U.S), should worry about more important issues than worrying about capturing Osama Bin Laden, i mean how many millions if not billions of $ out of tax payers money has been lost already.

Bin Laden is such a great bogeyman, he's basically become a story to tell children, like Communist "Eat your vegetables, or Al Qaeda will fly a plane into your school, Jimmy".

They got lucky because the US (or specifically, US Authorities) got arrogant and lazy, thinking that no one had the balls to dare attack.

Now all this money is being wasted on a guy, not to catch him, but to make sure people are afraid of something, because fear drives a lot of things. The military industrial complex, consumption, the market / economy in general.
Just look at how WW2 and the Cold War were run: "Fight the Japanazis - Buy War Bonds", "Only Communists Don't Like Credit", etc.

Instead of Reds under the Bed, we now have TowelHead under the Bed.

...and that's what Spurlock is trying to poke fun at...

    dead

He had diabetes and was going blind, required dialysis because of kidney disease.

Even in the most healthy and well cared for environment, people with that many problems simply don't live for long. Let alone on the run in the environment he is in.

Yeah, but Elvis has had access to his home planet, Rigel 6's, advanced medical facilities, along with the real J.F.K., who had to go home because he was helping EArth out too much...

Maybe it's because I'm a "used car salesman's worst nightmare", but as much as I understand that the "boogyman" story is what Spurlock is poking fun at, I know Bin Laden is not first and foremost on my mind when I buy groceries, or tell my son to eat his vegetables. His film will be "well received" and "highly acclaimed" and "revolutionary", blah, blah, blah, but my point was that I beleive his film will not properly reflect the serious nature of what it is to live or be a traveler in that part of the world. Not to mention wearing the type of clothing that attracts bullets.

It turns the search for Bin Laden into a big joke. Now, I concede that while the search might be a joke, I don't beleive that living there should be portrayed that way. The middle east has been in a war torn state for a LONG time now. People not living in those types of conditions have NO IDEA what it is like. Oh, sure, we attempt to sympathize by picking a side and showing what we think is devoted solidarity, and then go home and watch WWE after a demonstration. Unless you have been there, and not just as a visitor, but really lived there for a while, you and I have no idea.

Then, along comes this "filmmaker" who is going to make a movie poking fun at his own country by asking stupid questions designed to be funny, and by down playing the serious nature of the conditions these people live in.

I just think it's insulting. I think that Borat was filmed with more taste.

my guess is that he's living somewhere in HELL!!!!

that is the most positive thing i can say about him otherwise i'm liable to offend some people and that isn't my intention.

if he's not there, i'm praying to my god that he gets there soon.

    peace
