On open question to the owners/ moderators of YE

I would be very interested to know what YE’s policy is towards the selling of fake goods and illegal items is on the forum.

It appears that even after 100’s of such posts the moderating team take no action against offenders to the point where it is almost being encouraged by the lack of response.

The posts on this topic not only gives a very negative impression to new comers and watchers but it also reduces the creditability of the forum as a place to discuss business issues. I have never seen a forum of this nature take such a cavalier approach to this issue, and its made even more remarkable considering the issue is so easily dealt with.

Finally I would of very much liked to have asked this question via email however numerous emails sent over a week ago have been ignored.

I very much look forward to hearing your response on this issue.

I agree with both the above members, but if you see that other members do try to stop those fake sellers from posting. Also the moderators might not have much time to pin-point every member who carries out such malicious acts. But I am sure YE takes care of these issues. Also one cannot stop these members from registering, ither YE should tighten their registration process or simply ban these members individually!

Yes I think its good that other members try to stop people selling fakes, but I don't agree with the point about time.

I use another forum with alot of selling activity and very strict rules, also the amount of active posters is huge in comparison to YE, it has a moderation team of 3 and it works perfectly.

Of course they can't stop people from registering they could lay down rules to make the situation clear.

Can I offer you word of advice then, do search for Nike every time you come on then delete every thread it finds. Time taken= not alot.

Double of not a lot is still not a lot

One thing I find amazing is that if you are so short of time why did you ever accept becoming a moderator? As for the other new moderators, have they posted anything since they became moderators?

Thats what i was somewhat thinking, A moderator shouldnt have that dutie if you are preoccupied. If you are too busy then you need to get some full time Mods in here to keep on top of it.

We all have lives outside of the internet and other interests that keep us very busy. I am out of town several days each month, and I have two businesses to run. Although I try to check in on the boards at least a few times a week, I can't be on 24/7. When we find people spamming the boards, we delete the posts and ban the user. We are deleting several posts per day, and the ban list has more than doubled in the past few weeks. We are doing our best to clean up the boards, however it will take time and since there are only a few of us that can do it, we can not be on all the time. If you have any questions or find a specific issue, please feel free to contact any one of us and we will be happy to take care of it the next time we sign on.

    Thanks,

Over the past week I have seen a slight improvement in posts.

Whether thats due to the work of mods or the spammers just got fed-up, Im not sure, but I'll give the mods the benefit of the doubt.

Well done guys - keep it up

It would be interesting to me to see more of these bigger forums, like YE, implement a Spam Moderator position, where that person's sole responsibility would be to identify and remove spam. I think this would work wonders.

Nothing will actually be done about this. It is all talk, and no action will be taken. That is just my opinion.

Just IMO, the only moderator is `acuravo, hes doing a great job, its just, he is the only one that I see moderating. One person cant moderate these forums.

Fire the other mods, and get more!

    Bizguy..

    Hi there LowClass,

I am on the site almost every day of the week. I am the person that actually has to go through all the deleted posts and 'hard delete them' and remove them from the boards. Acuravo has been doing a FANTASTIC job of keeping up with the spam posts and Yes, things have gotten much better over the past month with the spamming issues. We are looking for other mods to come on board to assist with the spamming. Anyone interested, please PM me.
Also, I reply to every PM that I am sent and just went back into my archives and realized that I did miss yours. My appologies. Your name has officially been changed to LightHouse as per your request.

    Thanks!
